From the Witch's Kitchen: Prosperity Oatmeal Raisin Cookies

One of the many great things about being a Witch is that we're capable of turning any mundane act into something quite magical. Many of us do this in the comfort of our own kitchen with the daily meal preparations and baked goods. Incorporating such magic was a huge inspiration behind Folkcraft. As an ex-barista, I found that the variety of elixirs crafted for coffee could also be utilized in baked goods. Thus, began the venture into baking and crafting some magical recipes to be shared among others.

In honor of our upcoming launch of the Midsummer collection, I wanted to share a magical oatmeal raisin recipe utilizing our Prosperity syrup. Our elixir is crafted and formulated to be used in baked goods, but depending on the individual's taste, you may decide to adjust the suggested amount in this recipe. That's the fun part of recipe crafting!

A Witch's Prosperity Oatmeal Raisin Cookie

Ingredients:

  • 2 sticks of softened unsalted butter

  • 1 cup granulated sugar

  • 1 cup packed brown sugar

  • 2 large eggs

  • 3 tbsp Prosperity elixir from Folkcraft Goods, depending on taste

  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 tsp baking soda

  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon

  • ½ tsp salt

  • 3 cups old-fashioned oats

  • 1 ½ cups raisins, unless you'd like more!

Let's get baking!

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until well combined with a fluffy consistency.

  2. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

  3. Then, stir in the Prosperity elixir from Folkcraft Goods and vanilla extract. Again, depending on your particular taste, you may want to adjust the quantity here!

  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ground cinnamon, and salt.

  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until combined. Be careful not to overmix! A mistake I made several times in my baking journey...

  6. Fold in the oats and raisins, ensuring they are evenly distributed throughout the dough. In this act, a Witch may decide to incorporate additional magic through the act of an incantation or meditation, focusing on the intent of attracting prosperous opportunities to them and their loved ones.

  7. Place the dough into the refrigerator for about 30 mins.

  8. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

  9. Then, using a spoon, gather a spoonful of dough onto the baking sheet, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

  10. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden brown.

  11. Remove from the oven and allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

Then, they're ready to serve. Enjoy your delicious oatmeal raisin cookies with a hint of Prosperity elixir from Folkcraft Goods!

Note: The Prosperity elixir from Folkcraft Goods is a unique ingredient, so the taste may vary depending on the specific elixir used. Feel free to experiment and adjust the amount of elixir to your liking.
